So true. Getting myself out to a park or just to gaze at neighborhood flowers. Good for the soul

I think a lot about my own diminished capacity for focus. As well as my need for restful activity, and what rest might actually *be.*

One way I've been resting my brain when forced to be inside is this series of videos from Craig Mod, where nothing exciting happens, but you can watch the rain, or a postman making rounds. I find they train my capacity to pay attention to...well, nothing exciting happening. As I was reading this post, I realized they are promoting soft fascination.

Ah yes! Lots of soft fascination and cloud watching happening over here these days as I have designated time to recover from surgery. Otherwise, even living in the country, as I do, I do not take enough time for this. While my capacity for focus lessens, so does my push to take time in the woods or porch. As though, if I make myself stay on task, even if not very productive, I make up for my lack of focus. Which, in turn, makes me feel like I don't exactly need a break. OMG.
