Wonderfully positive and well written ( as always). I appreciate the other blogs too. Your transparently sharing about 'losses' and seeing them just as they are give me hope. Thank you <3

Woody Allen said it best, Asha: "Losing is much more interesting."

Well, I could say something vapid, like 'Hang in there, girl!' but it looks like you have it under control. Seriously, I loved this, I needed this, I know just how you've felt, and I know why you wrote this.

If we gave up after a few dozen losses, where would we be now? At some point we won, and that's an achievement that wouldn't have happened if we'd caved after any one of those losses.

Still, it hurts to lose! No getting around it. A writer, or any creative, is all ego. We have to be in order to put ourselves out there the way we do. Every time we publish it's a call to 'look at me!'

Everything we write comes from inside us, and what's more vulnerable than our inner selves?

But hope is that thing... We can't live with it, we can't live without it.

Thanks, too, for introducing me to Lyz. I loved her piece on political losing, and again it struck a nerve. I've been there, too, waiting for my party to finally win against those shmucks.

I already subscribe to Curious Elder. I'm finding way too many newsletters to subscribe to! I'm in danger of never getting any work done!

I hear you about not getting work done. I try to read as many as I can, but some weeks I just can’t. But I figure just being subscribed is a help to them.

Glad you liked Lyz. She’s one of my absolute favorites. ❤️
