That is so wonderful. I haven't gotten my timing right for sugar snaps for years now. I also deal with so much bird pressure. I need to put nets over my raised beds this year until everything has gotten to a certain size.
I'll admit to having a hard time finding enough to keep my head above water right now, but I do love comedy and can share some faves if you're getting into it! Brad Wenzel, Gary Gulman, Kyle Kinane, Aparna Nancherla are faves. Beth Stelling once made me laugh so hard while driving that I had to pull over because I couldn't see through the tears. Stewart Huff looks at the world with a wonderment that is really charming.
I have this tiny passionflower cutting that has started growing after a super long period of seeming deadness. I make sure I go check in with it first thing every day. Gets my brain focusing on life before I take in any of those death-dealing headlines. 🌱
I’m going to make more lists of superpowers after reading this - or just ask myself more regularly, “could DT/Musk do _____? No he could not.” Just for the little rush.
I’m taking care with lots of soup. Can I eat soup for every meal?? We’ll see! 🍲
I finally got started going back to Helen Newman Hall on campus to exercise a couple weeks ago and now have had to stop for 3-4 weeks for medical reasons. As soon as the weather warms up to the 50s and we have dry roads I will be back on my bike. That is my normal exercise. I got over 2000 miles in last year and hope to continue this year.
well I'm up to my neck in community organizing and joining the save our ship brigade. dunno if it will work. can't worry about that. how many chairs will we need in the church parlor?....gotta go! hugs and thanks for your essays!
I got my sugar snap peas planted! Hope in a tiny seed.

It’s not above freezing, but the sky is blue, the clouds are fluffy and the sun is out making the icicles drip. 🙂
Escapist reading. Currently, the third in the Emily Wilde series. Just... pleasure and escapism, not always a bad thing. Thanks for sharing your own!
I haven't heard of that one. You'll have to tell me about it. You know I love a good escape book.
Yoga every day and warmer weather with birdsong. Savin my ass.

Soup is always a good answer.

Cooking real food more often than not. I need to work on the sleep and not scrolling thing, big time.
Cooking real food is so important. Even if, in my case, it's making a sandwich as often as not. It's still real food, dammit!
