As I read it, I thought about how evolution works. Evolution only works in the context of the collective of all of nature; however, it also only works as individuals adapt, usually in seemingly small and insignificant ways, to changing circumstances.
What a timely comment! I was just listening to a podcast about biomimicry and they were talking about Darwin, and how his whole line about "survival of the fittest" didn't actually appear in the text until the 5th edition because someone else had coined it in response to his work! I'm really curious about biomimicry and what it has to teach us about ethics. I put the author's book on hold at the library. I can't wait to read it. ♥
Great essay today. Thanks!
