Wow, that song! Definitely gonna keep that one in my back pocket for future use! Liz Gilbert is such a gem. Her message about mercy, and how important mercy can be, especially for us highly sensitives, to access creativity really rang true. I got to be at an interwiew with (my beloved) Ann Patchett, and heard her tell the butterfly story - it was so powerful I never forgot it. I'm gonna try on EG's practice of conversing with Love each day - sounds like a good experiment.
I'm so glad you enjoyed that interview. It is one of my recurring favorites. So many beautiful bits of wisdom in there. Have you read her latest novel, City of Girls? It's not my favorite of hers. That is definitely The Signature of All Things. But, as she says, City of Girls is a wonderful story of young women being sexually reckless without getting wrecked, which certainly has held true in my own life and I loved seeing in print.
Excellent! My nervous system has not settled from the trauma of Trump, and I'm sure this is going to take some time. The 4 o'clock bourbon sounds too appealing. I'm right there with you. Getting back in the body and better self care. Thanks for putting words to the many things I also feel. I love the poem!
