and to know Ross Gay is as generous as his words? Well, to be honest, I would have expected no less, still so good to know it to be true.

I'm so glad I read your final newsletter this year because I would not have come back to read this one. I had only read Catalog of Unabashed Joy when I saw him in October. I had a huge crush on him before I saw him read at a poetry/creativity camp. The Book of Delight is a revelation of epic proportions! Thank you for sharing this enganglement. Ross' reminder that there is more connection among us than not and we should hold to that and delight will be everywhere!

Check out his most recent, The Book of (More) Delights! As we Quakers say, life is continual revelation, and Ross articulates the delights of it better than anyone. I am so thankful to be here on this Earth with him.

Oh, Asha. Tears. And joy. And beauty. And love, and longing. And joy again, through the tears. That is what you wrote, and that is what I felt, reading this piece. I can only imagine what it might have been like for Ross Gay to have those moments of connection with you when you two spoke. I had not heard of him, or his work, before this. So now I have something else to look forward to reading - thank you.

I think you will really enjoy him, especially his essays. Though you're probably better at poetry than I am. I only ever want to read poetry with other people because I so often feel like I don't really understand it. But I'm going to try and dig into his more deeply.
