I just came across this one from ‘22. Really enjoyed seeing you foraging! Foraging has come into my awareness as a truly natural experience, if that makes any sense. I don’t think we have ramps where I live on the Oregon coast, but we have wild dandelions and nettles, mushrooms... much more! There is something so special and yes, you used a great word, “vibrant” about receiving Nature’s offerings with gratitude and awe.
So beautifully well-stated! “The vast majority of those unnecessary deaths were caused by our national unwillingness to balance me— my needs, my opinions, my desires— with the reality of us. What do we need to consider, do, and feel to continue to exist in connection to each other for the long haul? How are we, as individuals, tempered by the reality that we’re not just here by ourselves?” I’ve been writing about this very concept, balancing me + us, for a while now and labeled it “(our) me power.” The balance act is what makes us human, I think.
Integrity with the earth, integrity with each other. Yes.
and I knew nothing about ramps, so thank you! Very nice video. Great seeing the sun behind you! :)
Thank you! My son told me I should have been facing into the sun, but then I can’t see. So, I’m glad to know you liked it. 🙂

Agreed! I think it makes us human to the extent that we are a social species, and we can't be a social species successfully without walking that line.
